James P. Yudes was born in New York, New York on July 5, 1950. He attended Villanova University where he received both his B.S. and J.D. He was admitted to the New Jersey State Bar in 1975 and began the James P. Yudes, P.C. law firm in 1978.
Mr. Yudes is admitted to practice law in the following Courts: State of New Jersey; United States Tax Court; United States District Court; United States Court of Appeals, 3rd Circuit; United States Supreme Court.
He is certified by the Supreme Court of New Jersey as a Matrimonial Attorney and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. He has served as a trustee of the New Jersey State Bar Association and as chairman of its family law section. He has also served as Chairman of the Union County Early Settlement Program.
Mr. Yudes is one of the authors of the Yudes Family Law Citator which is the foundation for an annual lecture series called New Jersey Family Law Update. Mr. Yudes has presented this lecture through the Institute for Continuing Legal Education (I.C.L.E.) since 1992. The lecture series is delivered with a member of the judiciary and is given both on site, via webcast and on-Demand so as to afford the largest number of family law practitioners to benefit from the presentation.
Mr. Yudes has also been involved in numerous reported cases including: Caplan v. Caplan, 834 A.2d 459 (App. Div. 2003); Cargulia v. Cargulia, 309 N.J. Super. 649 (App. Div. 1996); Carr v. Super. 363 (App. Div. 1995); Giovine v. Giovine, 284 N.J. Super. 3 (App. Div. 1995); Heuer v. Heuer, 152 N.J. 226 (1998); Innes v. Innes, 117 N.J. 496 (1990); Miller v. Miller, 160 N.J. 408 (1999); Schuyler v. Ashcraft, 293 N.J. Super. 261 (App. Div. 1996); Shalit v. Shalit, 322 N.J. Super 351 (App. Div. 1999); Robertson v. Robertson, 381 N.J. There are two components to Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings: General Ethical Standards Rating - The General Ethical Standards Rating denotes adherence to professional standards of conduct and ethics, reliability, diligence and other criteria relevant to the discharge of professional responsibilities. When both categories of Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings are confirmed, a lawyer receives an CV®, BV® or AV® Rating.
